History

Tanners Creek Horticultural Services, a not-for-profit enterprise of Eggleston Services of Norfolk, is located next to the Virginia Zoological Park on LaValette Ave. Tanners Creek is the end result of 6 years extensive research, development, and fund-raising by a joint Eggleston Services and Virginia Zoological Society planning committee. The site includes a 3500 sq. ft. Educational building and 6200 sq. ft. of accessible greenhouses. Tanners Creek is also setting up to compost zoo manure both on and off site. Our compost is 100% organic and enriched with Raw Earth brand colloidal mineral supplement. Tanners Creek is currently seeking input from local gardeners and clubs about what people will be looking for at the garden centers this spring and summer.
