Tanners Creek was developed through a unique partnership between the Virginia Zoological Park and Eggleston Services. Our goal is to provide structured gardening activities which are therapeutic for developmentally disabled adults. In addition, we produce healthy plants for sale to the community to help fund our programs. Eggleston Services, a not-for-profit, community rehabilitation program, has provided a wide variety of opportunities to individuals with disabilities since 1955. Tanners Creek Horticulture Center opened in 1999 with a mission of "caring for people, plants and our Earth."
