RESPITE CAMP PROGRAM

The respite camp program is designed to offer an extended center-based supervision to adults with MR related disabilities between the hours of 7:30am to 5pm Monday through Friday or weekends. Respite care refers to short term, temporary care provided to people with disabilities so their families can take a break from the daily routine of care giving. The goal of this daily respite service is to provide social opportunities to participants in a safe and structured environment while offering their caregivers the opportunity to broaden their free time to attend to other responsibilities during the workweek. Activities typically include craft projects, outdoor recreation, and field trips to nearby parks, athletic events, and movie theaters.
