Mr. Andrew Houghton, a member of the COMMITTEE FOR PURCHASE FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE BLIND OR SEVERELY DISABLED spent the day touring various employment sites managed by Eggleston Services. February 10,2005 Mr. Houghton returning to his home in Florida from a Committee meeting in Washington D.C. got a chance to first hand interact with employee of two sites which are awarded by THE COMMITTEE to Eggleston Services under the JWOD (Javits,Wagner O.Day Act) program. The day began with a tour Eggleston's Laundry plant, employing over fifty workers with severe disabilities performing both JWOD and private linen contracts. Employees were eager to explain their jobs and show Mr. Houghton their role in production of in excess of six million pounds of laundry annually. Other sites on the tour were the Business Fulfillment Center on Tidewater Dr. and a stop for lunch at Camp Allen, a full foodservice facility which provides meals to the United States Marine Corp. The day wrapped up with Mr. Houghton's appearance on the Eggleston Services "Ask the Expert" show on WTAR, AM 850..
