Recreation is an important part of healthy living. At Eggleston Services, we offer participants the opportunity to relax and have fun at Civitan Acres. Civitan Acres is a 14-acre resort in Chesapeake, VA. In 1999, Eggleston Services joined with Civitan Acres for the Disabled, Inc. to expand the resort's offerings. Together, the two organizations have made Civitan Acres a fun and relaxing place for participants while also offering services like wellness programs and vacation activities.
Our Wellness Program is CARF accredited in personal and social services. Designed for individuals who want a year-round day program, the Wellness Program helps adults with disabilities improve their quality of life through activities that help develop and balance their emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual well-being. At Civitan Acres, we focus on:
- Fitness assessments
- Aerobic exercise
- Nutritional education
- Stress reduction techniques
- Community integration
- Overall well-being

Civitan Acres offers vacation opportunities for adults and children with disabilities throughout the year. Participants can choose from day or overnight packages. With swimming, cabins, soccer and baseball fields, playground facilities, and a variety of community outings, participants have many opportunities to enjoy themselves and develop a variety of skills. Civitan Acres provides leisure opportunities to over 200 individuals each year.
