“Beautiful Minds” Gallery

Friends, family, and supporters of Eggleston celebrated the organizations 60th anniversary with a special event at the Slover Library in Norfolk on Friday, Sept. 11.

The event included a reception and unveiling of an oil painting of Mrs. Louise Eggleston done by portrait artist Ron Primm and a video retrospective outlining the 60 year history of the organization, highlighting its impact in the community.

Slover Executive Director David Sullivan spoke about the unique nature of the library, it’s technology and mission as well as its architecture and tribute was paid to those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.

Special guest speakers were Drs. Fred and Penny Frese. Fred spoke on his lifetime of living with schizophrenia while Dr. Penny Frese addressed the ways family members can help support assistance with mental illness. (Photos by Greg Lloyd Page).
