Fourteenth Annual Day for People with disABILITIES

The Fourteenth Annual Day for People with disABILITIES at the Virginia Zoological Park will occur May 21, 2016. Last year, thousands of citizens attended the event and this year’s event will be just as successful. We expect hundreds of individuals including service providers, people with disabilities, and interested family members to attend the event. As always, admission is free to any person with a disability and one caregiver.

The goal of the event is to provide resource information and a leisure experience to residents of the Hampton Roads community with a disABILITY, temporary impairment, or health condition, with the hope that people will find a new product or service, learn from the experience of others, and gain new living, advocacy or job skills. The event includes a full day of exhibits under the theme of “All Aboard” to include a public safety expo, Virginia Zoo discovery carts and animal ambassadors, children’s activities, inflatables, the Hurrah Players, TRDance Center’s Adaptive Dance, and Meet Mark Twain of the Virginia Stage Company.
