Communication and Events Intern – Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization that has been helping educate, train and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. We are currently seeking applicants for a temporary Communication and Events Intern.
The Communication and Events Intern will work with a highly energetic team of professionals to develop and implement communication and events tactics across the organization. This exciting and fun summer position will assist with Eggleston’s community outreach, fundraising, and marketing success and requires a highly organized, creative and detail oriented person.
The Communication and Events Intern will help develop and execute the strategies and programs needed to brand the organization to the public successfully. He/she will be responsible for leading the planning, communication, execution, and evaluation of each event throughout the summer. They will also assist the Director of Marketing with the development of the marketing and media strategy for the organization and assist in the execution of some of the necessary tactics of that plan.
Qualified applicants will be currently attending an accredited university for at least one year, experience in special events and fundraising is a plus, have an understanding for marketing, fundraising, and communications strategies. Must have knowledge of event and project management, knowledge of marketing tools and strategies through software such as Constant Contact, Mail Chimp or other similar tools and knowledge of Network for Good or Classy. Must have the ability to manage social media, skilled in WordPress or other website platforms is a plus, familiarity of Google Ad Words, Analytics, and Grants programs, proficient in Microsoft Office suite, and basic graphic design software. Pre-employment drug testing, clearance through criminal background investigation, and acceptable driving record required.
