Employment Technician – Community Employment – Part Time – Norfolk – Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization that has been helping educate, train and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. We are currently seeking applicants for a part time Employment Technician to provide supported employment services to adults with disabilities. This position is part time, 15-19 hours per week. Work hours will vary (primarily evenings and weekends).
Essential duties include assisting Employment Specialists with Situational Assessment, Job Development and Job Site Training services based on client needs. Conduct assessments and provide job development, and job site training for persons referred for Supported Employment services. Develop relationships with community employers to create job opportunities. Implements the IPE by providing “hands on” skills training on the job, in the community Maintains accurate documentation consistent with program guidelines.
A Bachelor degree in a related field or Associates degree and 2 years of related experience or a combination of pursuing a degree in a related field and related experience, is required.
Must have experience using Microsoft Office to complete work tasks. Must have the ability to communicate orally and in writing. Must have the ability to travel to clients and businesses throughout South Hampton Roads, including Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Hampton, and Newport News using own personal vehicle. Ability to work a flexible schedule, primarily evenings and weekends. Ability to obtain required trainings including First Aid & CPR, Positive Behavior Interventions, etc. Pre-employment drug testing, clearance through criminal background investigation, and acceptable driving record required.
Pay Range-$11.00- $12.52/ hour
