Truck Driver- Laundry-Full Time- Laundry Services- Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization that has been helping educate, train, and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. We are currently seeking applicants for full time truck drivers.
Driver will operate a 26 foot delivery box truck with automatic transmission to serve commercial laundry customers in Hampton Roads area and NE North Carolina. Driver is responsible for; driving routes throughout Hampton Roads, loading and unloading linens when picking up and delivering goods to customers, physically counting and weighing goods to ensure accuracy of inventory and order, and maintaining truck cleanliness and mechanical condition to ensure safe and efficient operation. Driver will provide good customer service and accurately complete required paperwork such as order delivery tickets. Must be available to work Sunday thru Saturday and flex hours between 3:30 am and 6:00 pm. and be able to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends.
Qualified applicants must have the physical stamina to lift 50 pounds, move and direct pallet jacks and carts with material weighing up to 900 pounds. Experience driving a large delivery truck, 26 ft box truck 26,000 lb GVW. DOT regulations apply. CDL not required. Will need to complete and pass an annual DOT physical exam, and all DOT regulations and screenings. Proof of acceptable driving record required. Pre-employment drug testing and ability to pass a federal/criminal/ security background investigation for military base access is required.
Hourly rate of $13.30. Proof of acceptable driving record must accompany application to be considered.
