Volunteer opportunities are available throughout all levels of our organization for individuals, corporations, civic groups, and military members. Children ages 12-17 are welcome to volunteer with a parent or guardian. Check out the different ways you can volunteer below, sign up for volunteer specific emails, and check out our volunteer postings on Volunteer Hampton Roads!
Virtual Volunteer opportunities can be completed from the comfort of your home, or even your desk, as many of these tasks are suitable for organizations as well! Contact our volunteer coordinator at 757-858-8011 to learn more.

Our support volunteer opportunities work directly with…
- Camp Civitan:
Each summer over 8-10 weeks, Eggleston hosts camp for nearly 200 adults with disabilities. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 Eggleston was not able to hold the traditional summer camp this summer. We are holding a virtual summer camp on most Wednesdays. Please check back in 2022 as we will have volunteer opportunities for a variety of tasks, from preparing camp to assisting campers in activities. Individuals and groups are welcome. - Day Program and Residential Special Events:
Volunteers make our special events and celebrations much brighter for our day program and residential facilities. Individuals and small groups can help decorate for holidays and birthdays, wrap presents for Christmas in July, serve Thanksgiving dinner, and much more!
- Camp Civitan:
Our business services not only provide jobs for the individuals we serve but also provide funding for all of our support services, like Camp Civitan and Beacon House. Volunteer opportunities are often seasonal.
- Christmas Tree Farm:
Each year our Garden Center needs help with it’s annual tree sale from mid-November until mid-December. Fill out the form below to learn more!
- Christmas Tree Farm:
Every year, we host the Eggleston OK5K Walk, Run, and Stroll. This is a great event designed to raise awareness and much-needed funds for our mission. Due to Covid-19 the 2021 race will be a virtual event in October. We will be looking for volunteers to help put together the race packets and on packet pick up date. Interested individuals or groups can contact Tim Giles here.
Large group volunteer opportunities (10-15 individuals) can be arranged for corporations, organizations, civic groups, or military personnel interested in donating time to our mission. Our Volunteer Manager will coordinate a special project to accommodate your group so you can make the most out of your time with us. We can also schedule facility tours and/or speakers into your day to further educate your team on our work. We ask that you reach out at least 6 weeks before your desired volunteer date for planning and logistics.
- United Way Day of Caring:
United Way Day of Caring is on September 17, 2021. Small group and virtual volunteer opportunities are available.
- United Way Day of Caring:

We also need individuals with specific skill sets to support departments across our organization. Here are a few ways you can donate your skills and talent:
- Music and Art Therapy:
Are you a singer, dancer, poet or have other skills that you could entertain or engage our clients with disabilities? - Facility and Administrative Support:
We have varying needs that include organization, filing, beautification, and facility maintenance. - Committee and Board Membership:
We are always seeking community leaders to help guide and lead our organization by serving on our Board of Directors or a committee. Contact Danielle Nance at Dnance@egglestonservices.org to learn more.
