Join us on Friday Sept. 11 at the Slover Library in Norfolk for “Beautiful Minds: My Life with Schizophrenia” by Dr. Fred Frese Phd, presented by Eggleston and the Slover Library.
A renowned expert on schizophrenia, Dr. Frese had his first episodic break as a young Marine Corps officer while guarding nuclear weapons. Dr. Frese will discuss his 15 years in and out of mental hospitals and how he went on to study psychology and earn his PhD while managing his illness. His wife, Dr. Penny Frese, will discuss what it is like to be the family member of someone with mental illness.
