DSP- Laundry Services-Full Time-Norfolk-2:30-11:00 – Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization that has been helping educate, train and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. Eggleston is currently seeking applicants for a full time Direct Support Professional at our laundry located in Norfolk.
The DSP will; provide direct support services and training for individuals with disabilities including intellectual disabilities in a production setting, perform production activities, develop and implement individualized service plans, measure productivity, keep accurate pay records, complete required documentation, fill in for vacant positions, staff absences on all shifts, assist with chart reviews, and time studies. Must be available to work Monday thru Friday including rotating Saturday shifts 2:30pm-11:00 pm, work during inclement weather, and holidays.
High school diploma/ GED and experience in the Human Services field. A minimum of one (1) year of experience providing services to individuals who have a wide range of significant disabilities (in a production atmosphere preferred), to include completing documentation to support billing, entering/approving payroll and supervising individuals in a work setting. Experience supervising employees in a production setting. Must be able to provide excellent customer service. Must have reliable transportation. Practicing Universal precautions are required to prevent exposure to blood borne pathogens and bacteria in certain work areas. Applicants must have the physical stamina to work in an industrial/commercial laundry environment that is prone to temperature extremes, dust, and lint. Must be able to stand, walk, lift, bend, stoop and reach. Knowledge and ability to utilize Microsoft Office to complete tasks. Acceptable driving record, pre-Employment drug testing and clearance through criminal background investigation required.
