DSP-Residential – Carlson-Full Time-Hampton-Thursday-Saturday 11p-9a- Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization that has been helping educate, train, and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. We are currently seeking applicants for a full time Residential Direct Support Professional at our Hampton location. Applicants must have the ability to work Thursday – Saturday 11p-9a with the ability to be flexible and be available weekends, rotating shifts, and holidays.
Essential duties include; implementing training and providing direct assistance with activities of daily living and all aspects of personal care, work with individuals as part of a team, 1 to1, and in groups, develop and implement individualized service plans, enhance community integration by facilitating community outings, transporting participants, completing required documentation, complete all training, administer medication, and provide positive behavioral support. Must be free of tuberculosis in a communicable form. Proficient in using Microsoft Office to complete work tasks Assist in cleaning and managing the house. Ability to drive a multi-passenger van.
Qualified applicants must have the physical stamina to provide assistance to participants. High school diploma or GED required, a Bachelor Degree in Human Services is preferred but not required. Experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities. Knowledge or experience managing day to day activities in a residential setting. Must have the ability to interact and communicate with individuals with disabilities. Must have the ability to lift 50 or more pounds. Pre-employment drug testing, clearance through criminal background investigation, and acceptable driving record required.
