Employment Specialist – Community Employment-Part Time- Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization that has been helping educate, train and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. We are currently seeking applicants for a part time Employment Specialist to provide supported employment services to adults with disabilities.
Employment Specialist will conduct assessments and provide job development, and job site training for persons referred for Supported Employment services. Develop relationships with community employers to create job opportunities. Develop Individual Plans for Employment(IPE) based upon assessment information. Maintains accurate documentation consistent with program guidelines.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 2 years of related experience, is required. Must have experience using Microsoft Office to complete work tasks. Must have the ability to communicate orally and in writing. Must have the ability to travel to businesses throughout Hampton Roads, including Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Hampton, and Newport News and transport clients using own personnel vehicle. Must be available to work a flexible schedule of 20-29 hours per week. Ability to obtain required training including First Aid &CPR, Positive Interventions, etc. Pre-employment drug testing, clearance through criminal background investigation, and acceptable driving records required. Proof of acceptable driving record must accompany application to be considered.
