Laundry Worker – Ingleside Laundry- Norfolk-Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization that has been helping educate, train and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. Eggleston is currently seeking applicants for a full time Laundry Worker at the laundry operations in Norfolk. Position must be filled by an individual with a documented disability.
The laundry worker will work as part of team processing linen in an industrial laundry setting, including laundry from hospital facilities. Laundry worker will: hand fold linen according to customer specifications; feed linen items into pressing and ironing equipment; soil sort, separate, pack, count and weigh linen for delivery; and must follow all safety regulations. Positions must be filled by an individual with a documented disability.
Qualified applicants must provide documentation of disability with application to be considered. Must be available to work 2:30 pm-10:30 pm Monday thru Saturday as scheduled and have the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes working a rotating weekends and holidays. Must be able to read, have the physical stamina to work in an industrial laundry that is susceptible to prolonged periods of cold or high temperatures, foul odors, viewing and sorting of linen soiled with variety of body fluids and be willing to work in a biohazard area. Must be able to stand for duration of the shift and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must have no communicable diseases. Pre-employment drug screening required.
