As the world moves to more secure online solutions for documents, your business may be overwhelmed with piles of papers that need to be destroyed. As a document shredding company in Virginia, Eggleston works with various companies to meet their document destruction needs. This blog discusses the variety of factors that make a document shredding service reputable.

Best Place To Shred Documents

How to Choose the Best Document Shredding Service

When it comes to document shredding, choosing a reputable company that can offer you the solutions you need should be a priority. There are a variety of factors that you should take into consideration to make the correct decision. These factors include transparency of pricing, secure document shredding, bulk document shredding, a certificate of destruction, and customer-driven solutions.

Transparent Pricing To Shred Documents

Before working with you, a reputable and trusted document shredding company will supply you with transparent pricing. Instead of getting hit with hidden fees and upcharges, make sure the company is open and honest with you about the cost of shredding.

Secure Document Shredding

Document shredding is necessary for several industries, including medical, legal, and government offices. When you don’t have the time to complete shredding in-house, you need a trusted partner to do it for you. You need to ensure that your documents are secure from collection to destruction; every step of the shredding process should be monitored and secured.

Bulk Document Shredding

Whether you are a large company or a growing one, check to see if your document shredding company offers bulk document shredding. With this service, you can rest assured that all of your documents are taken care of. This also ensures that you will have a reliable partner to turn to no matter how large your company grows.

Certificate of Destruction

A trustworthy and reliable company will stand behind the work they do. Companies that offer certificates of destruction do just that. With a certificate of destruction, your business has a record of the completed service and an assurance that it met all security and compliance rules.

Customer-Driven Solutions To Shred Documents

When looking for the best place to shred documents, you need to search for a company that offers customer-driven solutions. How do they go the extra mile? Some companies offer multiple ways for documents to be collected, such as pick-up or drop-off services. Similarly, companies can offer monthly or weekly arrangements which allow you to stay on top of all your document shredding needs. Additionally, the best companies will offer other services, including document scanning or conversions.

Adults with Disabilities Working Together

At Eggleston, we believe in empowering citizens at work, at home, and in the community. That is why we have spent the past 65 years providing education, training, and employment for persons with disabilities. Even with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), many adults with disabilities have difficulty finding or keeping employment. Thankfully, Eggleston is here to help serve our community through employment, residential, and support services.

Eggleston’s Community Employment For Disabled Adults Program

One of the main ways that Eggleston provides disability employment services in Hampton Roads, is through our community employment program. The first step for this program is getting a referral to our resources. Then, our team will help find and place adults with disabilities in a suitable work environment.

Getting a Referral

A referral for our community employment program must come from one of three places: the Virginia Department of Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS), the Virginia Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI), or the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS). These state agencies assist individuals with disabilities by helping them find work. In order to participate in our community employment program, you must receive a referral from one of these agencies. This can help individuals find jobs for physically disabled adults. Visit your local office in order to find out how you can receive a referral.

Finding Jobs for Adults with Disabilities

Once you have received your referral, Eggleston’s staff of experienced specialists provide one-on-one support. Through situational assessment, job development, job placement and training, and follow-along support, each individual client can reach their goal of obtaining employment.

The goal of situational assessment is to get a better understanding of what type of job the individual would enjoy and be able to perform. With job development, the staff member helps prepare the individual for job expectations and the interview process. Through placement and proper job training for disabled adults, individuals are placed in jobs and supported by staff members in performing their duties. Once the individual is more comfortable in their job setting, they will receive follow-along support and have someone to turn to if needed.

Working for Eggleston

In addition to providing a community employment program, Eggleston is also an employer! This means that you can work for Eggleston. In order to do this, you have to receive documentation of your disability and apply.
