Shout out to Penske Truck Rental at Brookside Court  in Norfolk for lending us some strong arms at our Tidewater Drive location!

And special thanks to Manager, Ben Stanley for choosing Eggleston for their community service volunteer day

They helped to organize storage areas and clear warehouse space to make room for our Cox Communications expansion.

We truly appreciate their hard work!

Thank you to all those who participated in the Sweet Potato Harvest at the Urban farm this past Saturday!

Round of applause and very special thanks to the USS Oscar Austin Supply Department under Cmdr. Wesley A. Brown for volunteering with us two weeks in a row!

We had a total of 15 individuals serve at our Military Highway and Tanners Creek location. Their hard work consisted of clearing out cluttered space, cleaning out shipping containers, power washing laundry bins, and laying rock in shallow walkway areas at the Garden Center.

As a result, unused clothing items were boxed up and sent to Best Thrift and the Garden Center has been beautified with the freshly washed and laid rock.

We truly appreciate their time and service to us and our country!

MAJOR thank you to the Peninsula Catholic High School students for coming out to our Peninsula Day Support & Seniors Program this past Friday!

We had 27 students volunteer their time to clean up and beautify the front and back courtyards and create decorations for the fall season and upcoming Halloween party.

We truly appreciate their hard work and service!

“Other schools don’t have service days where they go out into the community and impact the lives of others. It means a lot to be able to give back in a meaningful way.”

At Eggleston, we service a population of individuals with disabilities who spend their weekdays at a number of our locations in Day Support Programs.

What are Day Support Programs? Programs that are designed to improve the quality of life for
individuals with disabilities through a social network of friends, a caring staff and meaningful and stimulating activities.

What is their purpose? To help those who attend develop and balance the emotional,
intellectual, and physical dimensions of their lives.

How can I Serve? By giving your time and talent to share with our associates attending these
programs and impacting their lives through valuable life experiences.

Through Excellence in Action, together we can help people with disabilities gain confidence,
independence and self-sufficiency with meaningful, enjoyable activities!

Welcome All! Do you have a passion for being outdoors and giving back to your community at the same time?? Join us on each Tuesday of the month at the Urban farm located at the corner of Church and 26th Street in Norfolk and nurture your passion while sharing your time to plant, harvest, water, and more!

The plants grown at the Urban Farm are sold at the Eggleston garden center, which provides employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities that we serve. They are also offered to the public as community supported agriculture baskets and sold every 2nd and 4th Sunday at Village days at Lafayette Park.

To sign up, please fill out the form to your right and check ‘Volunteering’. The form will go directly to our Volunteer Coordinator, who will reach out to you once it is received. Be sure to specify which Tuesday(s) of the month you are interested in.

A Special “Thank you” to Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) students for all of the hard work at the Eggleston Garden Center Greenhouse during their Community Impact Day on Saturday, August 10th!
Over the course of 3 hours, they painted walls, organized, removed debris, mulched the entrance, and so much more! Hundreds of students fanned out across Hampton Roads to support not only Eggleston but also organizations like The Southeastern Virginia Foodbank, For Kids, The YMCA, and Park Place School.
Service in the name of others is truly meaningful and fulfilling to all who are involved. We hope this Impact Day meant as much to the EVMS Students as it did to us!

Thank you again for your time and energy EVMS!
