Eggleston has received accreditation, the industry’s highest rating on quality and safety, from the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC).

HLAC is a non – profit organization that inspects and accredits laundries processing healthcare textiles for hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities; and their mission is to publish high standards for processing healthcare textiles in laundries, and to provide an accreditation process that recognizes those laundries that meet these high standards. The decision to become accredited is voluntary.

“Becoming accredited makes us a better service provider. It gives our customers peace of mind to know that their supplier is meeting the highest standards in processing healthcare textiles,” says Leah Boyd, Eggleston’s Associate Vice President of Laundry Services. She added that “The customers we serve — predominately hospitals and military customers — are used to dealing with agencies, vendors and people who have accreditation. It’s the right thing to do if you are in the business of processing and providing healthcare textiles.”

The primary benefit of accreditation is that an independent third party has inspected our facility and found that it meets or exceeds the highest standards for processing healthcare textiles.

Memorial Day 2018

Eggleston honors and pays tribute to America’s sons and daughters who laid down their lives for the freedom of our country. Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971.

In honoring their service and sacrifice, we also think of the mothers and fathers, husbands and wives, sons and daughters that make up the Gold Star families to whom we owe a debt that can never be repaid. Our thoughts and our prayers go out to all of them.

Memorial Day can be difficult for those who have lost a loved one, but it is also a day of hope. The spirit of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice lives on and should never be forgotten. As we remember this, we must each take a moment to reflect on our individual roles and responsibilities in sustaining their legacy for generations to come.

Come by the Garden Center this Memorial Day Weekend to take advantage of our sale on Annuals AND get your fresh veggies from our Urban Farm at Riverview Village Days on Sunday!

TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES: We’ve been experiencing some intermittent outages with our email at all Eggleston locations. If you’ve been waiting for email responses from staff or simply haven’t heard back, feel free to message us here or give us a call at 757-858-8011 for additional assistance. Please bear with us as we work through these technical difficulties!

This downtime just gives us more time to work at the Greenhouses, Landscaping and the Eggleston Garden Center; Embroidery and Document Conversion and Shredding, Business Services and Day Programs, Laundry, Food Services, and all other Government Contract locations!

Volunteers showed up and dug in at the Eggleston Garden Center’s Urban Farm on Saturday as we began the great work of building our rainwater catchment system. We received a RetainYourRain grant from the City of Norfolk and encourage others to consider this opportunity to support water conservation and protecting our environment. How did you celebrate Earth Day?

Contact our Garden Center at 757-510-5651 to find out how you can become a member and receive fresh vegetables from the garden. Thanks again to everyone that came out to help or shared the information with others!

Residential Services

Residential Managers

There has been a great deal of change and growth since Tasha Jones became Vice President of Residential Services. As the spring weather teeters its way to us, our residential managers have literally begun opening windows in the homes of our Eggleston residents and creating the breath of fresh air that has been missing. Eggleston provides residential services throughout the Hampton Roads region, and the managers in our Residential Services Department have taken teamwork to a new level, supporting one another, working together, and seeking new and innovative ways to keep good attitudes when the days are rough.

There’s a lot of work to be done, and it must be done well. There is no compromise on the expectation of a high level of quality of service, compliance and care that comes with providing services to individuals 24 hours a day, seven days a week, weekends and holidays included. The residential team sets the bar high and reminds us as Henry Ford has said, “If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.”

Are you a good fit for our residential team?
